Anguilla is located in Eastern Caribbean and situated as the most northerly of the Leeward Islands. Anguilla is a British Overseas Territory with a population of some 12,000.  The island itself is 16 miles long and 3 miles at her widest point.  The island lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea, some five mile north of St Maarten/St. Martin and one hundred and fifty miles east of Puerto Rico.  The territory of Anguilla comprises several offshore islets, and coral cays, including Sandy Island, Dog Island, Prickley Pear Cays, Scrub Island, and Sombrero Island (the location of the island’s lighthouse).
